🌈 Introduction

For this activity, I created a mind map that represents my Personal Learning Environment (PLE). The goal is to show the different strategies, tools, and resources I use to learn English, and how these elements support my academic and professional development. 🌿✨

This evidence belongs to the course English Level 6 – MCE B1.1+. To complete it, I reviewed the article by Kupchyk & Litvinchuk (2020) about how ICT tools support the creation of Personal Learning Environments for learning foreign languages. 💻📘

Using this information, I designed a colorful mind map that illustrates how I learn English in my daily life and in my work environment.

💠 Summary of My PLE Mind Map

My Personal Learning Environment includes six main areas that help me improve my English in a flexible and meaningful way.

🎧 1. Listening

  • YouTube Premium (with English subtitles)
  • Netflix (English audio)
  • Alternative classic rock 🎶
  • Huxe podcasts
  • EWA video lessons and audiobooks
  • Social media audios

These tools help me train my ear with natural pronunciation and real vocabulary.

📖 2. Reading

  • Academic books 📚
  • Research articles for my monograph
  • Song lyrics
  • EWA interactive books
  • Huxe reading prompts
  • English posts from authors on social media

🗣️ 3. Speaking

  • EWA repeat-after-me activities
  • Huxe live voice rooms
  • Repeating lines from songs and movies 🎤
  • Practicing short phrases out loud
  • Future English/Spanish language exchanges in Medellín 🤝

✍️ 4. Writing

  • Short notes in English
  • WhatsApp messages in simple English
  • Duolingo & EWA writing tasks
  • Huxe written prompts
  • Exposure to academic vocabulary

🌼 5. Informal & Emotional Learning

  • Music
  • Daily micro-learning moments (cooking, walking, cleaning)
  • Social media content
  • Relaxed practice without pressure

This helps me stay emotionally connected to the language.

🤝 6. Real-Life Interaction (Medellín)

  • English learning groups
  • Language exchange meetups
  • Serious learners interested in practicing English and Spanish

These experiences will help me grow in confidence and fluency. 🌍💬

✨ What This Mind Map Represents

My mind map reflects how I combine digital tools, daily habits, academic reading, music, podcasts, social media, and future real-life interaction to learn English in a meaningful and personal way.

This PLE is aligned with my goals as a healthcare professional, researcher, and lifelong learner. 🩺📚🌟 Every tool and every moment—songs, videos, articles, podcasts—helps me grow and apply English in my daily life.

📺🧠 Media Manipulation, Advertising and the Hidden Grammar Behind Publicity

📺🧠 Media Manipulation, Advertising and the Hidden Grammar Behind Publicity (Critical Thinking and Media Literacy Post) In this learning activity, I explored how modern societies are constantly shaped by the messages we receive through advertising, mass media and digital platforms. 📱📰 After studying media literacy in the SENA material and reading about manipulative systems in 1984 by George Orwell, I realized how similar the mechanisms are. 📘👁️ Even though 1984 presents a dystopian society controlled by the “Ministry of Truth”, where language and history are rewritten to manipulate people, today’s world uses much more subtle methods—colors, images, slogans, editing and emotional triggers that influence decisions without us noticing. 🎨🖼️🔊 Advertising is not “just advertising”. It is a grammar of persuasion—a structured way of speaking to the subconscious mind. 🧩🧠✨ 🎭 Advertising as a System of Manipulation Modern media rarely shows reality as it is. Accordi...
